In early November 2010, dvv international officially opened its Project Office in Chisinau. The focus of the work of the Project Office will be the promotion of rural Adult Education and training, the strengthening of Moldovan Adult Education providers as well as the improvement of the legal and financial environment.

The project pursues - with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) - the following objectives:

Development and expansion of Adult Education programs especially for disadvantaged groups such as the unemployed, the elderly or the rural population. Local providers are supported in their efforts to expand their offers both quantitively and qualitatively.

Professionalization of tenders in the country. This objective particularly serves education and training opportunities for adult educators and employees of the host structures. Moreover, the exchange of experience in the country and with neighboring countries and the European context should be promoted.

Support will be given at the political level as well for the concerns of Adult Education, such as the introduction of an appropriate legal framework and reliable financial aid. Specialist meetings and information sessions are designed to increase awareness of the importance of Adult Education in the general population and among decision-makers.
