DVV International cordially congratulates the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) that recently celebrated its 70th anniversary with a most interesting hybrid event in Hamburg involving prominent facilitators, colleagues, partners and other stakeholders from around the globe.
UIL is the only institute in the United Nations system wholly devoted to lifelong learning, supporting countries around the world in developing robust policies and practices that provide everyone with the chance to learn. UIL has significantly contributed to advancing literacy, advocating for quality adult education for people most in need and enhancing lifelong learning opportunities. A comprehensive overview of UIL’s history along with testimonials about the importance of lifelong learning can be found in this virtual exhibition.
DVV International, as a professional organization for adult education and development, strives to promote sustainable structures for adult education in over 30 partner countries around the globe. Hence both institutes have a similar vision and mission and have been successfully cooperating, as for example in the context of the international adult education conferences (CONFINTEA), the design and implementation of project activities in partner countries, networking, professional exchange, research and advocacy.
We wish UIL all the best for the future and are looking forward to continuing and strengthening our successful cooperation!
