From the UNESCO website:
UNESCO’s Futures of Education initiative aims to rethink education and shape the future. The initiative is catalysing a global debate on how knowledge, education and learning need to be reimagined in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty, and precarity.
The Futures of Education initiative envisions that knowledge and learning are humanity’s greatest renewable resources for responding to challenges and inventing alternatives. The initiative was chiefly guided by a high-level International Commission of thought-leaders from diverse fields and different regions of the world. In November 2021 the commission published its report Reimagining our futures together: A new social contract for education, which presents a forward-looking vision of what education and learning might yet become.
For more information on the initiative visit the UNESCO website.
The initiative collected comprehensive inputs through a broad-based consultative process with stakeholders from governments, research, civil society organization and individuals. DVV International contributed to the consultation process through involving its global office network and its collaboration in so-called independent reports that were elaborated by the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE) and the Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education 2030 (CCNGO).
