UNESCO International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA)

UNESCO has organised world conferences on adult education (CONFINTEA) every twelve years since 1949. The seventh conference took place in Marrakesh, Morocco, in 2022. CONFINTEA VII was attended by over 1,000 delegates who discussed effective measures to promote adult learning and education (ALE) and lifelong learning. They also emphasised the important role of ALE in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the conference, the Marrakesh Framework for Action (MFA) was adopted - a central framework for action for global ALE, which replaced the Belém Framework for Action (BFA) adopted at CONFINTEA VI in 2009.
DVV International supports the process through its regional and country offices. Because information sharing is crucial in this complex process, this subpage will provide you with easy access to many documents published in the context of CONFINTEA VII, including official documents and statements from civil society actors and representatives of various regions.
