Creating a future through education – DVV International in Togo (video)

DVV International has been active in Togo since 2020, working to strengthen adult and non-formal education across the country. The aim is to build an integrated adult education system together with state and civil society partners and to improve the political and financial framework conditions for this. The activities are coordinated by the country office in Lomé, in close cooperation with the Ministry for Social Action, Women and Literacy.

A key area of focus lies in the creation and implementation of a national strategy for adult learning and education, the establishment and expansion of education centres in eleven municipalities, and the promotion of community-based learning initiatives – with a particular emphasis on empowering women. The video offers a glimpse into DVV International’s work on the ground in Togo, illustrating how community-rooted programmes in functional literacy and income-generating activities are helping to sustainably improve the lives of participants and their communities.
