In its annual report, DVV International provides insights into its worldwide commitment to the establishment and development of sustainable structures for youth and adult education in 2017.

DVV International carried out projects in over 30 countries with more than 200 partners last year. For example, the Institute has developed a new approach to literacy in Mozambique, promoted political education in Belarus and strengthened civil society (education) organisations in Cambodia. The annual report shows, with these and other examples, how DVV International and its local partners help to sustainably strengthen youth and adult education and thus to improve, in particular, the situation of disadvantaged young people and adults.

In addition to its worldwide project work, DVV International continued in 2017 to provide expertise at the interface of adult education and development, to promote global exchange of expertise and to advocate at the international level for increasing political recognition and public attention for youth and adult education. In 2017 the Institute hosted an international conference on “Adult Education Centres as a Key Factor for Sustainable Development” in Tbilisi, Georgia, published a series of specialist publications and position papers, and participated in global processes such as the CONFINTEA Mid-Term Review as well as the implementation of Agenda 2030.

In addition, the annual report provides an overview of all partner countries and projects for 2017, of networks, income and expenditure and the monitoring activities of the Institute.
