The European Training Foundation (ETF) has conducted two case studies on the learning and training approaches developed by DVV International Middle East, namely “Tafakur” in Jordan and “Mujawarat” in Palestine.
The ETF studied the learning practice within the framework of its Partnership for Innovation in Adult Learning and Education (PIALE) initiative and developed the case studies to support peer learning.
The findings indicate that, through its dialogue-based methodology and focus on participants' needs, these approaches enhance learners' awareness of the reality they are living in, increase motivation to learn, and improve employability. The strong support provided to learners, as well as the networking of DVV International’s partner organisations within their communities, was also identified as a key factor in facilitating transitions to various forms of employment and contributing to community development.
Overall, the studies conclude that adult education – particularly through these innovative approaches – plays a crucial preparatory role in vocational training and employment while also fostering local development.
