DVV International started its work in Togo in October 2020 with an opening workshop with government and civil society actors. An important partner of DVV International is the Department of Literacy and Non-formal Education of the Togolese Ministry of Social Affairs.
From November 2020 to the end of January 2021, DVV International conducted a study on the situation of non-formal and adult education in Togo together with the West African adult education network PAMOJA. The study was based on the Adult Learning and Education System Building Approach developed by DVV International, an approach for building and improving sustainable adult education systems. The first results were presented in Lomé in February 2021.
The conclusions drawn from this study, and the future focus of DVV International’s work in Togo, are currently being discussed in several regional workshops with local representatives from educational institutions, municipalities, associations and the government agencies responsible for education.
More information on the work of DVV International in West Africa can be found on the regional website (German and French).
