The European Association for Adult Education (EAEA) has published a background paper that addresses the role of gender in adult education and learning (ALE) and promotes gender-sensitive approaches towards learning.
EAEA: “Gender sensitivity in ALE is about more than trying to improve targeted outreach programmes for men and women who seem to be slipping through the gaps. Providing gender-sensitive educational opportunities makes people not only more likely to engage, but also more likely to get the most out of their experiences.”
The paper can be downloaded on the website of the European Association for Adult Education.
DVV International is a member organisation of the EAEA. The Association’s President is currently DVV International’s Deputy Director Uwe Gartenschlaeger.
