In autumn 2021, DVV International launched the project Urban X-Change Network which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. The aim of the internationally designed project is to strengthen the cooperation and dialogue between city partners and their adult education institutions with the active participation of civil society.
Over the next two years, nine German adult education centres (Volkshochschulen) and their counterparts in Great Britain, Ukraine and the USA will conduct cross-border activities on cultural and educational topics relevant to foreign policy and within the framework of the 2030 Agenda. They will implement them in close cooperation with their respective city administrations and civil society.
In addition, DVV International will organise networking conferences for the project participants from all four countries to promote the exchange of expertise on overarching city partnership issues and processes and to create a network of experts and practitioners.
