Our colleague Olivia Gnazou died in a serious road accident on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 while on the way to a workshop. She and her 52 year old driver, who also died, were on the Togolese National Road 1 a short distance past the village of Langabou when their vehicle collided with a truck on the road. Néné Sanogo, our collegue who was also in the car, was injured but was able to be extracted from the vehicle and is now on her way to a full recovery.
Olivia Gnazou initiated her work as an accountant in our new country office in Togo in May 2021. She had familiarised herself with her new task very quickly, with great commitment and great joy.
She would have celebrated her 36th birthday on 2 November. Olivia Gnazou was buried on Wednesday, 3 November, in her place of origin, Lassa haut, near the town of Kara. Our sympathies and commiseration go first and foremost to her family, especially her 9-year-old daughter Grâce, her husband, her mother, her uncle and her brothers and sisters. This tragic event has saddened us all here at DVV International and we will miss Olivia Gnazou very much.
