At the EAEA General Assembly in Zagreb on 6 June, Uwe Gartenschlaeger, Head of DVV International, was confirmed as President of the European Adult Education Association (EAEA) for another two years. The more than 100 delegates elected representatives of networks from Austria, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine and the United Kingdom to the board. Uwe Gartenschlaeger thanked the delegates for their trust. "I am firmly convinced that adult education will have a central role to play in the coming years in coping with the transformations and challenges Europe is facing. It is good that with EAEA we have a strong association here to represent our interests," said Uwe Gartenschlaeger in his acceptance speech for his third and last term.
