DVV International has been able to acquire funding – for the third time in a row – for the implementation of the history competitions within the framework of the Federal Foreign Office’s programme “Expanding Cooperation with Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia.”
The project, which is scheduled to run for approximately two years, supports civil society actors in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to implement chronological project work within the framework of history competitions. A total of 300 tutors will be qualified to accompany 3,000 pupils in their local history research. The pupils’ results are assessed by an independent jury. The best contributions receive a prize. At the end of the project, selected pupils will have the opportunity to participate in a History Camp where they will meet pupils from the other project countries. The History Camp is organised in cooperation with the Körber Foundation.
DVV International has been running the history competitions in the region since 2017. Armenia joins the history competitions this year for the first time as the project resumes with a third round of funding.
