TV broadcast about the Turkish-Armenian reconciliation project “Speaking to One Another”

Lusine Kharatyan, Head of DVV International in Armenia, appeared on CivilNet, the Armenian online channel, on 24 April 2014 and reported on the Turkish-Armenian reconciliation project “Speaking to One Another”. The interview (in English) can be seen by clicking on the following link:bit.ly/1ptn7Cj

Funded by the Federal Foreign Office, DVV International carried out this project with partners from Turkey and Armenia from 2009 to the end of 2012. Through oral history projects, joint workshops on local history between Armenians and Turks, exhibitions and publications, the project has encouraged a dialogue between the two communities.

The relations between Turkey and Armenia are historically heavily burdened. The question of whether the expulsion and murder of the Armenian people during the First World War should be recognised as genocide according to the UN Charter divides the two countries and their people to this day.

Two publications were produced as part of the project: “Speaking to One Another” (download) and "Moush, sweet Moush" (download).
