On 5 March 2018 the International Council for Adult Education in cooperation with DVV International will start a virtual seminar on the topic of “inclusion and diversity”. The seminar is free of charge and runs via email, it will be complemented by two webinars.

Following each issue of DVV International’s journal Adult Education and Development, the International Council for Adult Education offers an opportunity for a discussion of the topics raised in the print issue in a virtual seminar. The virtual seminar aims to promote a debate and dialogue on selected articles from the journal in order to delve deeper and broaden the analysis. It offers the opportunity to share concepts, experiences and methods on the topic of inclusion and diversity, from different regions and contexts, and to inspire new initiatives.

The virtual seminar will start on the 5th of March and will last for approximately four weeks. The following articles from issue 84 of Adult Education and Development will be the starting point of the seminar:

Inclusion, Diversity and Exclusion: Thoughts from within Aswat – Palestinian Gay Women

The seminar is free of charge and open to anyone. Registration is possible at any time via policy@icae.global. The virtual seminar runs via email in English. Contributions and comments (not longer than 500 words) can be sent in French or Spanish as well and will then be translated into English.

In addition to the email seminar, two webinars with selected authors will be offered: One with Shermaine Barrett from Jamaica, and one with Daniel L. Mpolomoka und Selina Banda from Zambia. Date and time as well as possibilities for registration will be announced during the seminar.
