From 28 January 2019, DVV International and its partners will offer a free blended learning course for the acknowledgement of diversity competencies. The course was developed as part of the Erasmus+ project “Validating Integration Competences of refugees” (VIC).
What competences help migrants as well as refugees to integrate and how can educators support and acknowledge them? The Erasmus+ project “Validating Integration Competences of refugees” (VIC) deals with this question. The two-year project (2017-2019) is coordinated by DVV International and involves six partners from five European countries.
A blended learning training course has been developed within the framework of the project. It is aimed at educators who work with refugees and migrants and who want, in addition to the teaching content, to impart know-how which will support integration skills. The course introduces a number of instruments that make it possible to acknowledge and promote diversity competences within the framework of integration courses, among other things.
The training starts with an introductory workshop, either in Bonn on 28 January 2019, in Kassel on 4 February 2019, or as a web conference on 12 February 2019. It is offered in German and English and is open to all interested adult educators.
The course platform can be found online at https://vic.dieberater.com. Colleagues who are interested can register free of charge.
Further information on the course is also available in the vhs.cloud: simply register at https://bit.ly/2Qb8mHk for the vhs cloud and, under NETWORK – Group Overview, participate in the group “Supporting and Acknowledging Diversity Competencies”.
